If you use Puddles for free, your data never leaves your phone. No account is created, nothing is uploaded, and no server knows you exist. Your logs live in a database on the device itself.

That changes only if you buy Household Sync, which exists precisely to copy your timeline between phones. This page explains exactly what that involves.

Free use: nothing is collected

Tracking walks and accidents, timers, reminders, statistics and CSV export all run entirely on your device. Puddles does not contact a server to do any of them, so there is nothing for us to collect, store or lose.

Reminders are scheduled locally by iOS. They do not travel through us.

Household Sync: what is stored

Buying Household Sync creates an account so two phones can share one timeline. The account is anonymous: no email address, no name, no password, no profile. It is an identifier and nothing more.

Your pet's name and training start date stay on your device and are not uploaded.

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, location, contacts, photos, health data, or advertising identifiers. Puddles has never asked for any of them.

What we do not do

No advertising. There is no ad network in the app.
No analytics or tracking. No analytics SDK, no crash-reporting service, and nothing that follows you between apps or websites.
No selling or sharing. Your data is not sold, rented, or handed to anyone for their own purposes.

Who processes data on our behalf

Supabase — hosts the database and the anonymous accounts. Data is stored in the United States (AWS us-east-1).
RevenueCat — verifies with Apple that a purchase is genuine.
Apple — processes the purchase and delivers push notifications.

Each receives only what it needs to do that job.

Sharing a household

A household code is shared deliberately, by you. Anyone who has it can see and add to that household's timeline — that is the whole point of it. Treat it like a house key: share it with the people who look after your dog, and nobody else.

How long data is kept

Your logs are kept until you delete them. There is no automatic expiry, because a training history is more useful the longer it runs.

Deleting everything

In the app, open Settings and choose Delete all data.

On a free household this erases everything on the device. There is no copy anywhere else.
On a synced household it also deletes the household, its entire timeline and your account from our servers. That affects everyone in the household, not just your phone.

Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone. To keep your history first, export it as a CSV from the same screen.

Children

Puddles is a tool for looking after a dog and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, of any age.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that affects what is collected, the date at the top will change and the new version will appear here before the change takes effect.
